4 years later...

Day 1...

Goals:
30 minutes of exercise a day for 100 days.

Follow a whole 30 eating style 80% or better for 100 days.

Take care of my skin. The skin on my face and the skin on my body.

Day 1 Progress:

Fried (no oil) peppers, onions and sweet potatoes. 2 eggs scrambled and cooked in the microwave,  1/2 avocado. Water. Tea.

Lunch 2 sausage links...at a BBQ. Tiny bit of potato salad and watermelon.  No cupcake and no homemade icecream.  Was it the sore all over body that made this temptation easy to refuse?

Dinner: leftover pepper onion and sweet potato hash. A few unsweetened dates. Not balanced but I was finishing a final paper.

Exercise:

8 minute fitness blender video on YouTube. Had to pause 4 minutes in to avoid "the trickle". Was convinced I was going to die. Also I can't do burpees. At all.

7 minute walk with my mom and Mikey. My bladder was still mad about jumping Jack's and we had to turn around.

Morning weight 237.4

Ideal Protein - Day 4

Breakfast at 8:00 - 4 oz coffee with 1/2 Vanilla EAS Shake

Lunch @ 12:00 - Huge bunch of lettuce with 2 Cups of Veggies topped with Walden Farms Creamy Italian dressing.

Snack @ 3:00 - 1/2 of a Atkins Meal Replacement Bar - YUMMY!

So far I notice that I am just not hungry today. and I tried to drink half a diet soda and couldn't finish half of it.

Dinner Time @7:00 pm - I am starving, I ate a small salad, asparagus and WAY more steak than I should have.  Then I finished the other half of my Meal Replacement Bar.......and now I am stuffed.

I have 1 and 1/2 shakes left for the day but no way am I going to fit them in.

Ideal Protein - Day 3

This morning I woke up and had a GREAT outlook, I know I am starting the changes of how my body reacts with less carbs. I feel less tired, I am happier. Best of all I don't feel deprived. Hungry in the evenings, yes, but not deprived.

AND its Mothers Day!

Mothers Day Brunch @ 10:00 - Ham and Egg Cups (3)

Lunch @1:00 - EAS Strawberry Shake and 2 Cups of Bell Peppers, I also ate a Atkins meal replacement at this time due to being incredibly stressed........

Dinner @7:00 - Steak and cheese and a tiny bit of Quino salad...which was deliciousness but not approved.

Snack @ 10:00 - Totally NOT ok on plan, but I ate 5 cinnamon gummies! They were so yummy. But yeah better stay away from those........

Ideal Protein - Day 2

Ok I believe in being completely honest in my online journal and I am pretty sure I will want to remember this, lol, how could I forget. First thing this morning I had the WORST stomach ache. It was horrible and I was on the potty for about two hours straight.

Was this coincidence? Was it TOM? Was it the Ideal Protein Food? I will be a little scared it is the food until I find out differently! So with that out of the way. Here is another confession, I hopped on the scale. I know I said I was going to only weigh once a day but dang it, it is very hard to not weigh daily when dieting. And the scale said I weighed 1.5 pounds less than yesterday. BIG SMILEY FACE! Of course after all my tummy trouble the scale said I weighed 5.5 pounds less than yesterday! But that doesn't count of course!

Breakfast @ 8:30 am - Chocolate Fudge EAS Shake with 4 oz. Coffee. Pretty delish, tastes exactly like a low fat mocha.

Snack @ 11:00 am - Sliced pickles, I am low on groceries and needed something snacky! They did the trick! and 2 cups of water. I also had 1/3 of a Atkins cookie dough bar. Since this is my favorite part of my food day I decided to split it up.

Getting enough water will always be my nemesis.

Lunch @ 1:30 - Chuck of lettuce (which is unlimited) 4 oz of shrimp, 1/4 cup of onions, 1/2 of a Vanilla EAS shake

For the record I think calling these drinks a "shake" is very misleading! LOL :)

Snack @ 2:00 pm and 2:30 - the other parts of my Atkins bar.

Snack @ 6:00 pm - 1 piece of broccoli ripped off the bunch from the back seat of my car because I WAS starving!!!

Dinner @ 7:00 pm - Dinner at Burger King - a Whopper without the bun, the cheese or any sauces - it tasted good but was not filling, so I hate a bunch of mini bell peppers, and then a Strawberry Cream EAS shake

Snack @10:00 pm - Still starving - not liking this at all, I ended up eating 6 slices of Fat Free Carb Free Ham lunch meat, and half a cucumber, and then I ate another half of an Atkins bar.

Honestly I am still hungry and still thinking of the other half of that bar. Not sure why all the hunger today it isn't very pleasant at all. No worse than other diets I have been on though.

Ideal Protein Day 1

Weighed in today at 225.....officially the most I have ever weighed. Doesn't really bother me though...I fully expect the number to be dropping quickly. I am not weighing daily with this diet...I am weighing once a week.
Todays Eats:
Breakfast @ 7:30 am- a EAS carb control vanilla shake mixed with 6 oz coffee and frothed in my espresso machine. Very yummy, though not as rich as I was expecting...it did keep me full till lunch though.

Lunch @ 12:30 pm - I was in Lewiston so lunch at Burger King it was. I had a grilled ceasar salad with citrus vinaigrette. The salad had a tiny amount of cheese so that and the dressing were a little out of protocol but I'm not sweating it at this point. I also had a Atkins cookie and cream bar. Yummy! Loved that...and I am stuffed.

Dinner @ 7:00 pm - On protocol you eat 5-8 ounces of protein and 2 cups of veggies plus lettuce salad. Since my lunch had chicken on it. I need to deduct that from my dinner protein. I am going to go for the high number of protein and still have a good sized piece of chicken plus 2 cups steamed broccoli and lettuce. Sadly I didn't get the approved dressing so I am sort of stumped on what to have with my lettuce. So I ended up eating my lettuce plain with nothing on it and it was really good. I know it sounds strange but honestly it really was good.

Snack @ 9:00 pm - I had a chocolate EAS shake mixed with ice except it didn't mix very well and it was more like chocolate milk.

Over all I feel pretty successful for having my first day done!

Swirl, suck, swirl, swallow

That sounds like something out of a dirty magazine but in reality it is my new "diet"....as in slowing down and savoring every bite. I already know I won't give up sugar...or soda...or fat. However that doesn't mean I have to shove it in my mouth as fast as humanly possible. I can still enjoy the food I love and still cut down on the calories and fat.

Chew slowly.

Savor the flavor.

Put your fork down between bites.

This is my theory..although it is not one I came up with of course. This diet advice is as old as Adam. I am hoping I can cut enough calories to drop one pound a week. It can't be that simple though. Or is it?

October - refresh!

Went for a little walk this morning - it was lovely and hard all at the same time! The scale was good to me today, 212.8, it had crept back up to 215. It motivated me to get out there and do that walk. I really really want to be under 200 pounds by Thanksgiving. So really gotta move it, and cut the sugar and carbs way down!

I CAN DO THIS!
